Staged by Design is pleased to report that this wonderful home has sold in less than three weeks! It received 48 showings in 20 days, which indicates that the Staging did exactly what it was intended to; create interest online to entice buyers to view the home, and encourage multiple offers, which is exactly what happened.

The principles of Home Staging are to create a look that potential buyers can envision themselves living in. This appeal must translate not only in photos, but in person as well. In addition to highlighting the best attributes of the home, the space must be warm and inviting, while neutral enough to interest individuals who may or may not share the same personal style.

The home owner’s had many lovely items in the home, but a bit too much furniture for the space, which is common. The way you live in a home and the way you market and sell it are two very different things, and often the first step is to open up the space by removing some of the furniture. We also removed the rug to make the room appear larger, and chose to also remove the heavy drapes to allow the natural light in. The lack of window treatments also resulted in a more contemporary look, with cleaner lines, to complement the  furnishings provided by Staged by Design.

The Master Bedroom also resulted in a dramatic change, as we suggested that the home owner’s remove the King Size bed. We replaced it with a Queen Size, which was more appropriate for the room. Different placement also highlighted the fireplace, which is a huge selling point. See the comment below from the Realtor, Toby Holles, of GMAC Real Estate.

“And the MSTR BEDROOM!!!  Again, you barely even noticed the fireplace before and now it is the focal point of the room.  And the room looks SO MUCH bigger with the smaller bed and putting the bed on the far side of the room really extends your eye.

The house looks amazing!  I can tell you that M. and M. were VERY pleased with the final product from the staging.  M. said that now she doesn’t really want to move!”
